When it comes to entrepreneurship, it's no secret that women-identified founders face more challenges than their male peers such as less access to capital and co-founders. In fact, in 2022 only 23% of VC funding went to companies in where there was at least one female co-founder

Whilst there are funds reserved only for women founded companies such as Scale Investors and The Alice Anderson Fund, traditional VC’s need to do their part to ensure the barriers to entry are removed for women.

That is what Antler aims to do.

Of Antler’s portfolio companies in Australia, 37% have at least one women-identified founder.

Antler has achieved this by ensuring that barriers to entrepreneurship are removed for all groups, including providing founders access to a strong network of co-founders and investors.

Additionally, we ensure diversity across our investment and decision making processes, from the interview stage by ensuring that there is at least one woman touchpoint during the interview process, to the investment committee by ensuring women present in all pitches.

Antler also does not back away from investing in businesses often founded by women, such as consumer-driven businesses in D2C and B2C markets like MysTyler and The OneTwo.

If you are a women-identified founder, we would love to hear from you! Applications to join Antler Australia are open - apply here.
