The world has 25M+ developers and this number continues to increase. However, the demand for developers is far outpacing the supply. This coupled with the increasing cost of developers makes developer productivity a key focus area for organizations and the key driver for the $5bn+ venture funding invested in dev-tooling to date.

Open-source projects have also picked up the pace. Data suggests that 60%+ of all software companies contribute to open source and 90%+ projects use open source components. Despite more developer time being spent on open-source projects, developer experience continues to be broken as developers have to use a wide variety of tools for their daily work.

Developer tooling is fragmented and product discovery is not a delightful experience. Collaboration is hard and open-source developers find it extremely difficult to get discovered, measure engagement, deploy software, maintain code, communicate and scale products. This problem is even more prominent for open-source developers.

A whole new Dimension for open-source developers

Dimension is a developer productivity and experience platform that enables open-source developers to manage all their code, integrations, domains, deployments and projects on one powerful platform.

Integrating the world's best developer tools together, it handles everything from communication to deployment - all in one place. Its fast and delightful interface enables developers to leverage the power of tools like GitHub, Vercel, Linear and Cloudflare from one platform. With keyboard shortcuts, 100ms interactions, real-time collaboration and extensibility at the core of their platform, Dimension is truly a developer-first product. It’s bringing back the joy of building software through magical experiences and delightful interactions that make you go wow.

With today’s proliferation of developer tools, project management apps, issue trackers, collaboration platforms, deployment providers, etc, developer experience has become fragmented, and we all suffer. Dimension aims to integrate your favourite fragments back into a streamlined workflow that brings happiness back to building software, and Tejas and the team have what it takes to make it happen. – Tom Preston-Werner, Co-founder, GitHub and Angel Investor in Dimension.

16-year-old founder Tejas has been passionately building software products and communities since he was 13 years old. Getting his start in the open source community learning how to code, founding a community of builders and helping scale it to 1M+ messages in the first year, becoming the first underage-founded startup to incorporate with Stripe, and now, working on a new and efficient way to build and deploy software, Tejas is a testament to the emerging entrepreneurial talent - the kind we want to back through the Antler India Fellowship.
